Traps of Iblees

Traps of Iblees Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim IslamicAwakening.com It is not possible to encompass one of Iblees' evils, let alone all of them. Since Iblees' evil is of six types, Iblees remains behind the son of Adam until he gets him to do one or more of these six evils. The first evil is the evil of kufr and shirk and enmity to Allah and His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). If he gains this from the son of Adam, his moaning is eased, and he rests from his ordeal with this man. Further, this is the first thing Iblees wants from the worshipper (al-'Abd). If Iblees gains this, he makes this person part of his army, one of his soldiers, and he appoints him as a deputy or agent against other human beings. Then, this person becomes one of the deputies or callers of Iblees. If he despairs of enticing him with the first evil, and if this person is one of those for whom it was written that he would be a Muslim in his mother's womb, Iblees tries the second class of evil. An experience of a non muslim woman in Hijab

Image
In The name of Allah,The Most Merciful,The Most gracious I walked down the street in my long white dress and inch-long, black hair one afternoon, and truck drivers whistled and shouted obscenities at me. I felt defeated. I had just stepped out of a hair salon. I had cut my hair short, telling the hairdresser to trim it as she would a cut a man’s hair.I sat numbly as my hairdresser skillfully sheared into my shoulder-length hair with her scissors, asking me with every inch she cut off if; I was freaking out yet. I wasn’t freaking out, but I felt self-mutilated. I believe that men who see women as only bad word is not allowed beings often commit violence against them, such as rape and battery. bad word is not allowed abuse and assault are not only my fears, but my reality. I was molested and raped. My experiences with men who violated me have made me angry and frustrated. How do I stop the violence? How do I prevent men from seeing me as an object rather than a female? How do I stop them

Virtues of the sacred month - Sha'ban

Sha’ban is the name of the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is named so because in this month the Arabs used to disperse (tasha’’aba) in search of water, or it was said that they dispersed to carry out raids and forays. Others maintain that it is so called because it sha’aba (branches out or emerges) i.e. it appears between the months of Rajab and Ramadan. Sha’ban is between Rajab and Ramadan, two very important months. Fasting in Sha’ban is a preparatory fast for Ramadan. If an individual begins fasting in Sha’ban he or she will have become used to fasting and will feel strong and energetic when Ramadan comes. The phrase "Sha'ban is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadan" indicates that because it comes between two important months, the Sacred Month of Rajab and the month of fasting, people are preoccupied with those two months and they do not pay attention to Sha'ban. Many people think that fasting in Rajab is better th

Let's trust in Allah swt

As Salamu Alaikum, All Praises be to Allah swt. In times of crisis and affliction, Muslims should return to Allah, putting their trust in Him and depending on Him in all of their affairs. Why should we Muslims trust in Allah and rely on Him? The answer can be summed up in the following points: - Because Allah is capable of all things. - Because all matters rest exclusively with Allah, and the command belongs completely to Him. [But His command, when He intendeth a thing, is only that he saith unto it: “Be!” and it is] (Ya-Sin: 82). - Because Allah causes whomever He wills to inherit the earth. [Lo! the earth is Allah's. He giveth it for an inheritance to whom He will. And lo! the sequel is for those who keep their duty (unto Him)] (Al-A`raf: 2} - Because all matters return to Him. [All cases go back to Allah (for judgment)] (Al-Baqarah: 10). - Because He is the Almighty Who can never be overtaken. [And He is mighty in wrath] (Ar-Ra`d: 13). - Because to Him belong the soldiers of th

The touch

In the name of Allah swt, the Most beneficient and The Merciful Indeed, Allaah has forbidden the Muslims from fornication and all the pathways, which lead to it. He (T) has said (which means): "And do not come near zinaa (fornication)! Indeed, it is an abomination, and an evil way." (Al-Israa': 32) Among the many things that excite passions between a man and a woman, is touching. Thus, touching, which opens the door to fornication, is also forbidden as it is a form of fornication, since the Prophet (S) said: The eyes fornicate. Their fornication is the (illegal) look. The hands fornicate. Their fornication is the touch. The feet fornicate. Their fornication is the walking (towards a woman). The heart desires, and the private parts either confirm it or deny it. (Al-Bukhaaree) Unfortunately, some form of this type of fornication is unavoidable. Although, we may not commit the indecent sexual act itself, indeed, our eyes, our hands, and our feet fornicate at least once in ou

Status of sunnah in Islam

Four poisons of heart - I

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-RaHeem From the works of Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbabli, Ibn Al-Qayyim al-Jawziyaa, and Abu Hamid al-Ghazali You should know that all acts of disobedience are poison to the heart and cause its sickness and ruin. They result in its will running off course, against that of Allah, and so its sickness festers and increases. Ibn al-Mubarak said: I have seen wrong actions killing hearts, And their degradation may lead to their becoming addicted to them. Turning away from wrong actions gives life to the hearts, And opposing your self is best for it. Whoever is concerned with the health and life of his heart, must rid it of the effects of such poisons, and then protect it by avoiding new ones. If he takes any by mistake, then he should hasten to wipe out their effect by turning in repentance and seeking forgiveness from Allah, as well as by doing good deeds that will wipe out his wrong actions. By the four poisons we mean unnecessary talking, unrestrained glances, too much food,

Four poisons of the heart - II

Insha Allah, we will look into the second part of the article. 2. Unrestrained Glances The unrestrained glance results in the one who looks becoming attracted to what he sees, and in the imprinting of an image of what he sees in his heart. This can result in several kinds of corruption in the heart of the servant. The following are a number of them: It has been related that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam once said words to the effect: "The glance is a poisoned arrow of shaytan. Whoever lowers his gaze for Allah, He will bestow upon him a refreshing sweetness which he will find in his heart on the day that he meets Him." 14 Shaytan enters with the glance, for he travels with it, faster than the wind blowing through an empty place. He makes what is seen appear more beautiful than it really is, and transforms it into an idol for the heart to worship. Then he promises it false rewards, lights the fire of desires within it, and fuels it with the wood of forbidden ac

Four poisons of heart - III

Alhamdullilah, we are dealing with the part-4 of the article. 4. Keeping Bad Company Unnecessary companionship is a chronic disease that causes much harm. How often have the wrong kind of companionship and intermixing deprived people of Allah's generosity, planting discord in their hearts which even the passage of time-even if it were long enough for mountains to be worn away-has been unable to dispel. In keeping such company one can find the roots of loss, both in this life and in the next life. A servant should benefit from companionship. In order to do so he should divide people into four categories, and be careful not to get them mixed up, for once one of them is mixed with another, then evil can find its way through to him: The *FIRST* category are those people whose company is like food: it is indispensable, night or day. Once a servant has taken his need from it, he leaves it be until he requires it again, and so on. These are the people with knowledge of Allah-of His comman

One Flaw in Women

As Salamu Alaikum, This is a general sharing. Hope you all agree with the content of this article Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes a

Five Things to Reflect Upon

O! You Muslims who are... 1. Desirous to drive large, shiny cars, REMEMBER: You will be driven one day as a horizontal passenger. 2. Wild and crazy over expensive clothes, REMEMBER: You will end up in just a 'KAFN.' 3. Recklessly sacrificing everything to construct beautiful homes and palatial mansions, REMEMBER: the graveyard 'PIT' - one's real home. 4. Greedily devouring tasty dishes and all types of extravagant delicacies, REMEMBER: one day YOU will be the meal for ants, worms and other insects. 5. Aspiring for fame, fortune, and bright lights. REMEMBER: the awaiting darkness and loneliness in the grave. Source: 'DEATH' by Husainiyah Publications Estcourt

Importance of Salah : A good article

All Praises is for Allah swt. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah swt from the evil of ourselves and wickedness of our own deeds. Whomever Allah swt guides, cannot be lead astray and whomever Allah swt misguides none can guide him. I thought of sharing this beautiful article, which explains us the importance of salah. It is actually a khutbah, delivered in a masjid of US {Michigan}by Shaykh Hisham Kabbani Alhamdulillah for the favor that He (swt) honored us with Islam, to be Muslims. To be Muslims is enough to be a pathway for us to Paradise, enough to at least put our first step in paradise. Kalimat ash-Shahada It is enough to say that you have reached the side of safety. When someone says that ‘I am a Muslim’ it means he or she accepted and admitted Kalimat at-Tawheed, Kalimat ash-Shahada, "ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah". To become a Muslim means accept the shahada, or else you are not a Muslim. By

Tension-Modern Killer Virus - Part-3

Loneliness : The third reason of anxieties and worries can be the feeling of loneliness. But this can only be in a non-Islamic society. An Islamic society does not cause such a fear among the its members. Islam insists that each individual live and work and pray along with all else. In prayers it has made congregation can be 27 times worthier than those done singly . In faith, Islam disapproves of an individual living in solititude or travelling alone. A hadith says that satan is with a single man. So is he with two men. But from three he runs away. Another hadith says that the wolf snatches away the straying sheep Apart from these, Islam also encourages the believers to visit each other so that they know of each other's conditions, and so that they may not feel lonely. Anxiety : There are some practical ways to , thru which anxieties can be got rid of. For instance, of a student works all over the year, he will not face anxiety at the end of the year before examinations. A man w

Tension - Modern Killer Virus - Part-2

Helplessness : Regarding the feeling of weakness and helpnessness, Islam works two ways to fight them. One, thru the faith that it imbibes in its believers and second thru its social system. As for the faith as the tool to fight the attacks of feelings of weakness, we have been given the example of Musa. When he started with Israelites from Egypyt, they were pursued by Pharoah and his army . The Israelites were in great fear. They cried in distress "we will be taken". But Moses was calm. He said , 'Never! My Lord is with me. He will lead me." So, the thought of the companionship of God kept Moses calm. It is this faith in the companionship of Allah that kept our Prophet Muhammad [sallal lahu alaihi wasallam} on whom be peace, calm in the cave while Abu Bakr was greatly anxious. Said he , 'Worry not! Our Lord is with us" It is when a believer has such faith that the rule of , 'And then Allah sent down peace on him' is applicable to a muslim. And

Tension - Modern Killer - Virus . Part-1

As Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh This article focuses on worries and anxieties that attack the heart and mind of man and create a state of perpetual misery. Actually the origin of worry is the fear of an undesirable thing happening in the near future . This is something that we all experience. However it may not ne confused with fear although it comes very near it. The difference is that worries and tensions are caused by the feeling of an approaching danger , although exactly , 'what danger', we are unable to descirbe. Secondly, beacause of the inability to describe the danger felt to be approaching us, we are unable to work out a way to defend ourselves. And the third difference between fear and anxiety can last very long The effects of worries and anxieties can be as follows: First, the feeling of unpeacefulness within. Second the search for means of escape in the face of on-coming dangers. And thirdly, prolonged tension These are psychological effects. Grad
