Why do we recite surah Kahf every Friday

๐ŸŒฟ *Ever wonder WHY it’s Sunnah to read Surah al-Kahf again and again every Friday?*

It’s to be reminded REPEATEDLY of some VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS contained in the Surah.

๐Ÿ“Œ *LESSON 1: YOU’LL BE TESTED IN YOUR FAITH*

The first story that Allaah mentions is  the story of the young men of the Cave or Kahf in Arabic (Hence the name al-Kahf)

They was a group of young men who believed in the Oneness of Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala while the rest of the community committed shirk.

When these young Muslims were persecuted beyond limit, they decided to flee to a cave from the harms of the people.
Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala miraculously hid them in that cave and protected them for several hundred years.

This beautiful story reminds us *every week* that one of the most common trials that we, as Muslims, will face is the trial of FAITH.

So know, for sure that we will be tested when we *practice* our Deen.

But if we are strong in our Imaan just like these young men and not waver, Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala Himself will shower us with His Mercy, protect us and provide for us from ways we can’t even imagine.

As Allaah says:

ูˆَุฅِุฐِ ุงุนْุชَุฒَู„ْุชُู…ُูˆู‡ُู…ْ ูˆَู…َุง ูŠَุนْุจُุฏُูˆู†َ ุฅِู„َّุง ุงู„ู„َّู‡َ ูَุฃْูˆُูˆุง ุฅِู„َู‰ ุงู„ْูƒَู‡ْูِ ูŠَู†ุดُุฑْ ู„َูƒُู…ْ ุฑَุจُّูƒُู… ู…ِّู† ุฑَّุญْู…َุชِู‡ِ ูˆَูŠُู‡َูŠِّุฆْ ู„َูƒُู… ู…ِّู†ْ ุฃَู…ْุฑِูƒُู… ู…ِّุฑْูَู‚ًุง

“And when you withdraw from them, and that which they worship, except Allaah, then seek refuge in the Cave, your Lord will open a way for you from His Mercy and will make easy for you your affair.” (Al-Kahf, 18:16)

So remind yourself every Friday of this *cardinal* lesson...
The tests will come but don’t let that daunt you.

Just ignore the people, their snide remarks, their hateful stares.

Don’t worry if they mock your beard or laugh at your hijaab.

And don’t give it a second thought if they give you a hard time.

You’re obeying Allaah and He will protect you and show you Mercy.

He will reward you for your patience and find ways of provision for you.

And He will grant you relief from your difficulties from sources you did not even know existed.

BELIEVE.

Then Stand STRONG.

NOTHING can stand in your way if He’s with you.

 The Advice Of Al-Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyฤd Al-Fudayl Ibn I’yฤd ุฑุญู…ู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡ said to a man, “How many years have come upon you?” The man replied, “60 years.” Al-Fudayl then said, “So for 60 years you have been travelling to meet your Lord and you are on the verge of arriving.” So the man said, “Indeed to Allฤh we belong and to Him we shall return.” Al-Fudayl said, “Do you know the meaning of this statement? Sufferings of this world !

 Why does Allaah allow suffering when He is the Most Merciful?๐ŸŒท by Asma bint Shameem  Earthquakes. Floods. Famine. Sicknesses.  Subhaan Allaah, we see such suffering and we wonder… Why is this happening? Why are there these calamities? Why does Allaah let this happen? Isn’t He ar-Rahmaan, the Most Merciful? It just doesn’t “make sense “! But as a Muslim, we must remember that not everything we see around us has to “make sense”.  Rather, whatever happens is with the decree of Allaah and there’s KHAIR in it, even if we don’t see it or understand it.  Yes we feel sorry when we see people suffering of sicknesses, or dying of hunger or being killed in earthquakes or floods or other disasters.  But we must also remember that as Muslims, part of our Imaan is to believe that our Rabb, Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala is Most Loving, and Most Fair.  Most Wise and Most Merciful.  It’s not enough to just believe that Allaah exists; rather it is EQUALLY important to KNOW and TRULY BELIEVE that Allaah
