The City of Roses

During the battle of the Tabūk, the Messenger ﷺ💚 told the companions not to consume any water from the 'Fountain of Tabuk' until he arrives. When they arrived they barely found any water at all. Upon the request of the Messenger, they collected the water and the Messenger ﷺ💚 washed his blessed hands and face with whatever was collected and poured it back. The fountain then started to gush such that it was sufficient for the entire army! The Prophet ﷺ💚 then turned to Mu‘ādh (ra) and said, ❝O Mu'adh, if you live long enough, perhaps you will see this area filled with gardens.❞ [Muslim] Today, the then barren Tabuk is filled with gardens and the region of Tabuk is one of the most important agricultural regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the city of the Tabuk is locally known as 'The City of Roses' because of the volume of roses which are exported to places around the world from Tabuk. Over 30 million roses are exported from Tabuk to different parts o...

Favours of Allah

As'salamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu, There's a verse in the Holy Qur'an of Surah Nahl. All of us experience this verse in our daily lives. Its as follows ;- "And if u count the favour of Allah never could you be able to count them. Truly Allah is often Forgiving, Most merciful": I experienced this verse again and thank Allah for His  favours while going thru an article.  I would like to share this article. It may be a reminder as well too. Author Maulana Yusuf islahi assigns some work to  his secretary to be accomplished . This Secretary showed all his intrest and excitement towards his job. This was a great sign of relief for the author. The  very day he had to sent a word to his secretary saying that, he may take his own time to accomplish the job as he''s to leave for a trip of two days.  But that trip gets cancelled and author meets his secretary personally and aske him to finish the work withinn 2 days itself as his trip got cancel...

Why do we recite surah Kahf every Friday

by Asma bint Shameem 🌿 *Ever wonder WHY it’s Sunnah to read Surah al-Kahf again and again every Friday?* It’s to be reminded REPEATEDLY of some VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS contained in the Surah. 📌 *LESSON 1: YOU’LL BE TESTED IN YOUR FAITH* The first story that Allaah mentions is  the story of the young men of the Cave or Kahf in Arabic (Hence the name al-Kahf) They was a group of young men who believed in the Oneness of Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala while the rest of the community committed shirk. When these young Muslims were persecuted beyond limit, they decided to flee to a cave from the harms of the people. Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala miraculously hid them in that cave and protected them for several hundred years. This beautiful story reminds us *every week* that one of the most common trials that we, as Muslims, will face is the trial of FAITH. So know, for sure that we will be tested when we *practice* our Deen. But if we are strong in our Imaan just like t...

Cats and Islam

Image
Nahmaduhu wa nusalli 'ala Rasulihi'l Karim All our Praise is for Him (Allah), and we invoke His blessings on His Noble Prophetic Messenger (Muhammad) Sallallahu 'alayhi wa Sallam. Was going through a website - wayfarer - wherein i got to read a new point about cats. It may be new to me, but would like to share with you here "Also Legend has it that the reason Sayyiduna Muhammad (saw) loved cats so much was that his life had been saved by one. A snake had crawled into his sleeve and refused to leave. A cat was called and asked the snake to show its head, in order to discuss its departure. When the snake finally appeared, the cat pounced on it and carried it off. There is also a legend about this in which a cat saved the Prophet's life from a deadly snake. The story is narrated by Annemarie Schimmel as follows: "There are variants of the story of how Abu Huraryra's cat, which he always carried in his bag, saved the Prophet from an obnox...

Believer like a honey-bee

As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah Was going thru this beautiful hadith It is narrated from our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in a Hassan Hadith, wherein he said: The similitude of a believer is like that of a honey-bee, if it eats something, it takes good food, if it digests, it brings forth good (honey), and if it reaches a broken wooden branch, it doesn’t break it as well. A believer resembles a honey-bee due to the following reasons: A believer stays away from ill-mannered & lowly actions just like a honey-bee stays away from bad things. A believer continuously makes an effort that nothing comes out of its surroundings expect which benefits the creation – just like a honey-bee from whose belly nothing comes out except beneficial beverage (honey) of different colors, which has cure for mankind - and that is only possible if a believer ponders that he is an individual of the best Ummah, which has been sent for mankind, meaning that he has a responsibility to guide them to the truth ...

Stay Sharp

By Muhammad Arshad They say that a fool lives to eat and a wise person eats to live. But then the question remains: for what purpose does the wise person live? Living is not an end by itself. There has to be a purpose for to live for. So what is this purpose? Most who reflect or think about life in any detail will consider and ponder about this. If the purpose of life is to become wealthy, obviously there would be no purpose after becoming wealthy. How could wealth then be considered as the aim of life? Once upon a time, a strong woodcutter got a job with a timber merchant. The pay was good, so he determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe. The first day he brought 18 trees. He tried harder, but only managed 15 the second day. The third day saw him bring only 10. Day by day the amount decreased. The woodcutter thought he was losing his strength and went to the boss and apologized. "When last did you sharpen your axe?" asked the timber merchant. "Sh...

Why prophets tended sheeps

Once upon a time, there lived in Basra an old man whose only occupat ion was caring for and loving his only son who was a handsome young man. The old man invested all his money on his son's education. The young man went away for a few years and acquired an education at a well known university under the great scholars of that age. The day had arrived for the son to return from his studies and the old man waited at the door for his son. When the son came and met his father, the old man looked into his eyes and felt great disappointment. "What have you learnt my son?" he asked, "I have learnt everything there was to be learnt, father", he said. "But have you learnt what cannot be taught?" asked the father. "Go, my son and learn what cannot be taught", said the old man. The young man went back to his master and asked him to teach him what cannot be taught. "Go away to the mountains with these four hundred sheep and come back when they are...
